PERFORMING SINGER/SONGWRITER/PRODUCER

BIOGRAPHY - THE SHORT OF IT / THE LONG OF IT

SHORT

Chad is country folk, born and raised--many generations of Montanans run through his veins. As a youngster coinciding with the much prophesied Y2K, the call of the urban life drew him to Seattle. He’s mostly lost his accent, doesn't eat much red meat these days, thinks it's cold when it gets down to 40 degrees, even expresses emotion on occasion, but he’s still Montana through and through. He is still a quiet person, not a lot of chit chat, and the sound and sight of irrigation sprinklers with the mountains in the background is like valium for his soul. His life in Portland, Oregon moves a little faster now, but his music holds his roots at the core, shined up with some city grease.

LONG

Chad Hinman entered the world of music playing drums in his Western Montana grade school band but quickly moved on to the saxophone, guitar, piano, with many other instruments to follow.

Chad discovered songwriting at an early age, too, and to this day relies on this this form of creativity to balance his life in a rewarding way, combining writing with audio recording, producing, mixing, video editing, and live performances both as a solo artist and as an multi-instrumentalist side-man.  He has produced such nationally acclaimed releases as The Starlings' 2006 CD  "Songbook", as well as their 2008 release "Marveling the While".  Chad lent his multi-instrumental talents to these works as well - adding clarinet, fiddle and electric guitar.

Fast forward to the present and we find Chad living the good life in the Great Northwest. Over the past 10 years he as written and recorded over 7 albums-worth of solo music, produced/mixed/engineered a handful of other artists records and performed across the USA and Canada.
